Exakta IIa - Version 1.1 (Rare - modified faceplate - IIa engraved without border)

Essentially a Varex IIa, Version 1, with a modified front plate. I elected to call this version, Version 1.1. The original Varex IIa engraving was ground and hammered out and re-engraved with only the IIa letters. This is one of the versions that are easily counterfeited. Unless you are experienced with these versions, let the buyer beware.

The camera is fitted with the rare first version Steinheil 55mm f1.9 Auto Quinon lens.

In Gary Cullen's Book, Exakta Obscurities, this camera is identified as a Version 13.
