Essentially a Varex IIa, Version 2, with a modified front plate. I elected to call this Version 2.1. The original Varex IIa engraving was hammered out and re-engraved with the VXIIa letters in script. While this version might be difficult to counterfeit, many other versions are quite easily counterfeited. Unless you are experienced with these versions, let the buyer beware.

In Gary Cullen's Book, this camera is identified a a Version 17.
