In conjunction with the manufacture of the Rolleiflex SL35M, Rollei produced the Voigtländer VSL 1 cameras. Of the three VSL versions, the VSL 1 is the most frequently encountered. Based on a Zeiss Ikon design from the Icarex SL706, the VSL 1 can be found in both M42 screw-mount and Rollei bayonet mount versions.

The VSL 1 TM has center-weighted open aperture metering capabilities and a range of shutter speeds from 1/1000 down to 1/2 second.
