In conjunction with the manufacture of the Rolleiflex SL35M, Rollei produced the Voigtländer VSL 1 cameras. Of the three VSL versions, the VSL 1 is the most frequently encountered. Based on a Zeiss Ikon design from the Icarex SL706, the VSL 1 can be found in both M42 screw-mount and Rollei bayonet mount versions. The VSL1 TM (screw mount) in silver finish is the least common of he VSL1 TM versions. It was produced in Germany and in Singapore. The one displayed here is a German camera.

The VSL 1 TM has center-weighted open aperture metering capabilities and a range of shutter speeds from 1/1000 down to 1/2 second.
