Post War Ihagee Exakta 66

This is an interesting part of the 66 finder. On the rear corners of the finder you'll find two pins that mate with the body. These pins are found on two 35mm designs by Ihagee - the postwar Kine and the never manufactured Kine Varex! Yes, I just implied that postwar Kine's have removable finders. ;-) The Kine finder wasn't refined to the point of practicality so Ihagee used their standard prewar faceplate to cover the 'latch'. Remember, Karl Nuchterlein had recently been killed in a WWII battle - this finder was a recent design of his. It would take time for the new head of design to adapt to his new job and begin moving the Exakta design forward. Klaus Rademaker's website has a blueprint front view of the Kine Varex finder. It appears identical to the Kine finder. The postwar 66 uses Nuchterleins rear pins but has a modified latch.
