Other French Exakta Lenses

 

The only French optical firm that produced lenses for the Exakta in automatic mount was to my knowledge, Angénieux.

Other firms that produced lenses for the Exakta in preset or manual configurations were the firms of Kinoptik and Telec.

Kinoptik, Paris - Recently, I visited Karl Heitz Inc. in New York, long the USA sole distributor of Kinoptik lenses. They stated that Kinoptik lenses made for the Exakta were limited to lenses with "T" Mounts. It is unfortunate that they never made the Auto Kinoptics like they made for the Alpa in Exakta Mount. Their 100 f2 APO and 150 f2.8 APO are among the sharpest lenses in the world.

 

J.L. Telec, France - Telec produced only one lens in Exakta mount, a manual 90mm f4.5.
