The only difference I could find was the diameter of the 'knob' on the latch for the film back. That, plus the camera works perfectly even though it appears to have never been serviced! This camera has the cosmetic attributes of late production cameras...

...but with the unusual serial number, it is possible there are some mechanical 'improvements'. I'll open this camera in the future to look for some obvious changes.

Another possibility of this camera's origin: The factory might have run a 'test' batch of cameras through the assembly line after every X units to ensure the alignment of the machinery. Check back at a later date and I'll post my results!
